Digital X-rays

Several years ago, SouthPoint Dental Care converted from using traditional X-ray film to digital X-ray technology.

Known as radiovisiography (RVG), this system takes pictures via a small electronic sensor. Images of the tooth or teeth are instantly transmitted onto the big screen monitor in the operatory, enabling Dr. Moore to see any problems immediately. This technology also allows Dr. Moore to adjust the contrast or magnify certain areas to enhance visibility and help diagnosis.

RVG is faster than traditional X-ray when it comes to processing film and it is highly sensitive, meaning patients are exposed to less radiation than with conventional x-rays.

It is estimated that a person receives 90 percent less radiation with this method.

Experts predict that in the near future the RVG system will be used by the majority of dentists. Its called the leading edge of dentistry and you benefit most of all.
